As the Christmas rush became more evident the last few days leading to the 25th of December, Filipinismo is happy to learn from recent news that several business establishments are starting to open up in Tacloban City, one of the hardest hit areas last November.
Areas like Tacloban wouldn’t have bounced back in a matter of one and a half months without the support of every Filipino, who made sacrificial moves just to be able to help our “Kababayans” affected severely by Yolanda.
Various companies, organisations and churches we know of, decided to cancel their respective Christmas parties in order to give their supposed “fund for fun” to victims of Yolanda.
Of course, there are countless of donors, some even students, who would give up their “baon” just so they could donate it to typhoon victims.
It’s amazing to see how Filipinos in times of emergencies and tragedies respond remarkably by showing their support in various ways.
As 2013 gives way to the New Year, Filipinos can look forward with high hopes for a brighter future, knowing that slogans or phrases like “kapit-bisig”, “bayanihan” and “tulung-tulong” are very much alive in our country.
Mabuhay ang Pilipinas! Mabuhay ang mga Pilipino!
Bilib sa Pinoy!
